External Ssd Exfat Or Ntfs Reddit, MBR is the older standard
External Ssd Exfat Or Ntfs Reddit, MBR is the older standard which is still compatible but we don't know at what point Windows 11 or future versions may decide to phase out the compatibility. Unless you have some kind of need for ExFAT's portability between operating systems (like an external drive that you move between Windows/Mac/Linux), I'd stick with NTFS since you get journaling, shadow copies, more robust permissions, encryption, hard links and a few others. So should I re-formating my external HDD to ZFS or ext4 or leave it NTFS ? what kind of benefit will I get if I format it to NFS or ext4 ? Also I'm usin Plex Server also on my server. exFAT, also called FAT64, is a very simple filesystem, practically an extension of FAT32, due to its simplicity it's well implemented in Linux and very fast. e. While macOS can read NTFS volumes, it can't write to them. Jul 30, 2024 ยท Why does my Firestick not recognize my external SSD or USB drive formatted with NTFS? Firestick does not support NTFS by default; it only recognizes FAT32 and exFAT file systems. So can the PKG installer accept NTFS or ex-FAT or both? Thanks for the help. The drive was ExFat by default, but I've had issues with HDDs in the past when they had ExFat format (like files taking forever to load, and some times my external HDD crashing and not being able to fix it using First Aid). .
